All parents are advised to read the Information for Parents booklet that gives details of how applications are processed. The timetable for admissions is contained within the booklet, Information for Parents Booklet 2020/2021.

Parents intending to move into the catchment area of a school are advised that it is essential to provide evidence e.g. solicitor's letter confirming the exchange of contracts and the date of legal completion or a tenancy agreement of at least six months.

If a place at a preferred school has been obtained on the basis of a fraudulent or intentionally misleading statement, the council reserves the right to withdraw the place.

If the permanent address of the child changes after making an application, please let us know as soon as possible in writing.

Parents are advised that they should only make one admission application which can contain up to three choices. If multiple applications are made the latest application will be treated as the preferred application and all earlier applications will be ignored.

Where there is shared parental responsibility all parents should be in agreement about the preferences listed in the application. It is the parents responsibility to come to this agreement. If we receive more than one application for the same pupil requesting a different preference on each application, the forms will be returned unprocessed until an agreed decision is made by those with parental responsibility.

Where we are able to offer you more than one school, we will offer you your highest ranked preferred school and withdraw all lower ranked preferences. If we are unable to offer you any of your preferred schools we will endeavour to offer you a place at the next nearest school with room.

Parents should note that free home to school transport is only provided for pupils who live 2 miles or more from their designated primary school or 3 miles or more form their designated secondary school.

If you are not offered a place at your preferred school you will have the right to an Independent Appeal.
